Furlough Update 2008
Dear Prayer Partners,
This letter is a very important one for several reasons. First of all, we want to express our deepest gratitude to you for your interest in our family and ministry. Your prayers have helped in every aspect of our ministry in Romania, as well as in our family’s health and happiness.
The second reason for this letter is to explain that we are diligently working to raise the extra support needed to recover from the devaluation of the dollar and from the rising inflation associated with living in the European Union. Since Darci and Derrick’s wedding in May, we have traveled about 30,000 miles and visited 35 churches (about half of them for the first time); and we have a full schedule until we leave back to Romania next month (Oct. 23rd).
We wish we could share with you personally how God has been working. However, we have to limit our furlough to only 6 months so that we can continue to work toward the qualifications for a permanent visa in Romania. So, we have a solution that we believe would honor the Lord and encourage you as you continue to pray for us. Please watch our presentation video and consider what the Lord would have you do.
The following are projects we are preparing for upon our return to the field:
· Double our facilities—which means doubling our rent (additional $1000 a month) or buying property.
· Begin a Bible Institute to train our people who cannot attend the Bible college.
· Translate and initiate the Reformers Unanimous addictions program in Romania.
· Start an English Language outreach to university students and others with the goal of evangelism and discipleship.
· Increase our soul-winning and discipleship efforts—to include distributing more quality tracts and literature, focusing on follow-up, and holding more outreach activities.
· More Church Planting through new preaching points, conferences, and practical assistance.
· Minister to the Hurting and Helpless—through parenting and family courses, counseling against abortion, assisting those with special needs.
These may seem like lofty goals, but they are just part of what the Lord has been putting on our hearts. We need your help—above all, your prayers!
Your servants in Christ,
The Tylers
